I think I will visit in the summer when I can take a boat over 😂

Coming with cash , and leaving with chocolatey fudgy goodness

Could not even contemplate doing that...my winter on the island will begin with some serious stocking up....as a kid here in Ohio.... never bothered me at all to be on the frozen river....way too chicken now....be safe....all of you....🙏🏻

Kristin Fair Combs. Ok, if there are this many people on it now, I would do it. 🙂

Amazing

No nerve to do that..😬

It is hard for me to have that lake freeze solid

Rick, there is no ships now, the Locks are closed, the ones your seeing are just before ice formed, they transport hay over there loads of it by huge machines , like Bulldozers , they have lots of horses to feed,, so the ice is thick, thick,,

Follow the Xmas trees.

Up mode of transportation on Mackinac island

Unbelievable view. Never been there in winter.🌨🌨🌨🌨🌨

OK I keep seeing pictures of big ships coming through the straights, escorted by the USCG ship. How is there a ice bridge from the island to the mainland?

Me either

Go Michigan!!

Try walking it .did it

I’ll wait for the water to become liquid

Didn’t think the ice would come this year. Stay safe

never in a million years!

Amazing , from Mackinaw Island to mainland over frozen water , with trees on each side to guide you 👍🏻❤️🇱🇷

Nope.. have a huge respect for that waters. My grandpa Lloyd StLouis lost his life on that trail many, many years ago. He was transporting mail from the mainland to the island and he and his dogsled went in.

I won't bike around the block for a doughnut on a nice day!

certainly! Already been across on snowmobile many many times daylight and dark.

A little spooky! Is this from this year?

I have....and cross-country skied.

Man, would I!

Dana Scruggs das ice bike ride!

No thank you

No. Don't the ships go that way?

Bikes are lighter then snowmobiles...but I do not like ice never know how thick it is...

No way only if it frozen to the bottom and then I probably wouldn't.

That would be a no for me.

That would be so cool

Well, I've been across this in the Summer, Winter time just NO.

Looks like a great adventure!

It looks awesome, would probably be fun but I think I’d have to pass!

I could never do that——lost a lot of nerve in my old age I guess!!!!

How fun! I would love to do this

I would do it in a heartbeat

Nope, not a chance. That lake may look calm and frozen up on top right now, but I know what's under there and it's nothing to be messed with!👿

How far is that?

No way, unless its in the high 30's outside. Wind chill on a bike just not appealing to me.

That would depend... is Murdick's open?

That be fun

Ha, they use old Christmas trees to mark the safe ice, been there and done that.
